The People’s Education Society, Jamkhed Dist Ahmednagar has been founded in 1951 with the vision ‘Transforming Rural Communities through Higher Education’. The motto of institution is ‘Shradhavan Labhate Dnyanamm’, means ‘If you have faith in knowledge and education, you will achieve it for the betterment of human kind by all means. The college is established in July 1984 initially only a single stream of Commerce. Then subsequently Arts and Science faculties are started in June 1987 and June 1991 respectively with a strong demand of society. The college is trying at best level to cater the service in the field of higher education to masses mostly in the rural and draught prone area. In this way it uplifts economically and socially retarded students by providing them education.

The college, located on a spacious 4.5 acre and having campus in the heart of the city, comprises of moderate buildings, other academic and administrative infrastructure which is manned by an efficient staff. Library, Gymkhana, Laboratories, Seminar hall, Computer laboratory, ICT facilities, digital language laboratory, class rooms, botanical garden, students and staff amenities, jogging track. The institute has computerized and automated administrative office. The institute has well furnished library with necessary services. Gymkhana is equipped with sports instruments. Laboratories are well equipped to meet the necessity of current curriculum and student strength. The college is Grant-in-Aid, and offers Co-education, and has received 2F/12B status of UGC from 4th February 2005. The college has received permanent affiliation from SPPU. College has successfully completed two cycles of NAAC receiving . The College has geared up for the 3rd cycle reaccreditation. The college offers UG and PG courses, and multi-dimensionally serves in the field of higher education. Personality and skill Development. Institute is located at central place and suitable for commuting from nearby villages. So, student strength of institute is increasing year by year. State transport buses with fare concession are available for students so that they can commute from their native places. 51 % of teacher staff and 67 % supporting staff are permanent. State government has given permission to recruit eight teachers. Eleven teachers have Ph.D. and two teachers have M.Phil degree. Institute runs student centric activities and provides government and other scholarships for socially and economically backward students. Government has provided hostel facility to accommodate socially backward students in the vicinity of college. Institute has active NCC and NSS unit for boys and girls. The institute runs, Earn and Learn Scheme for students in collaboration with SPPU, Pune. In addition to university curriculum institute runs value added courses in various departments to fulfil the need of local market and industry. The institute consistently involves staff and students in environment awareness activities. The institute has installed 10 KVA solar energy Project to boost the activities under green practices .The responsibility of formal academics is very ably carried out by a highly qualified staff and is beautifully complemented by the varied co curricular and extracurricular activities that help to nurture the all round personality of our students.
